With 1 in 2 people now facing a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, this disease touches us all—students, loved ones, and perhaps even ourselves. As yoga teachers, we have a powerful opportunity to make a meaningful difference. This training will equip you with the skills and confidence to work safely, compassionately, and effectively with people affected by cancer.

"I highly recommend this course for anyone with plans to help people heal with yoga as a teacher ,or heal themselves. The knowledge, skills and confidence you’ll gain by being taught in a caring, kind and compassionate style using props and adaptations that simulate how a person living with cancer may be experiencing it are incredible"— Deb Wood, Yoga for Cancer Course Graduate
Morven Hamilton creator of the Online Teach Yoga for Cancer course

Hi, I'm Morven - lead teacher and founder of the Yoga by Nature training school, and creator of the Teach Yoga for Cancer Training Course Online

I’m so glad you’re taking your first steps towards deepening your knowledge and growing your confidence in this vital area of teaching. If you’re curious about what it’s really like to be a cancer yoga teacher, head over to my blog for a behind-the-scenes look.

Would you like to learn how to support the whole person through cancer—body, mind, spirit, and relationships?

Would you like to learn from home and have unlimited lifetime access to the course material for ongoing reference?

This training is rooted in a whole-person approach and structured around the five koshas model, which recognises that we are much more than just our physical bodies.

Our trainees value that our experiential approach helps them to step into the body and mind of a cancer patient - empowering them to teach with true empathy and compassion.

At some point, we will all be touched by cancer—whether through our students, our loved ones, or our own personal journeys. The core teachings of yoga can offer steadiness, clarity and compassion as we navigate the terrain of illness, loss, and transformation.

As both a breast cancer survivor and an experienced professional in cancer care, I bring not only clinical understanding but also heartfelt, lived experience as a former cancer patient.

Our training  course includes training in Mindfulness for Health—a powerful and evidence-based approach to working with pain and difficulty that complements yoga completely.

About the Teach Yoga for Cancer Online Teacher Training Course

A Thoughtful Approach to Supporting Cancer Recovery Through Yoga and Mindfulness

Learn from someone who has walked the path — not just studied it. Morven has navigated breast cancer and worked extensively in cancer care settings as a teacher and group facilitator. I will teach you to work effectively with the individual who is affected by cancer, not just the disease itself.

An Adaptive, Inclusive, Proven Approach to Posture Adaptation

You’ll learn how to adapt postures for a wide range of limitations caused by cancer and its treatments. But this course goes beyond simply modifying a mainstream practice—I’ll equip you with the knowledge and skills to design tailored yoga sequences and courses that truly meet each individual where they are on their cancer journey.

Mindfulness for Health Training

Expand your skill set and  augment your own yoga practice with integrated Mindfulness for Health training, specifically designed for cancer recovery.

Evidence-Based Practice

Master trauma-sensitive, evidence-based yoga practices for every stage of cancer care. You will learn how to hold space for your participants with cancer and their loved ones, from the pre-diagnosis period right through to living well post-cancer.

A Holistic Practice

Our training covers every aspect of yoga—not just the clinical side of posture adaptation We understand that truly supporting the whole person requires a wide range of tools. You’ll learn how to use meditation, yoga nidra, and breathwork to support people affected by cancer in a holistic and meaningful way.

The Approach - how the course developed

This course is built on the Healing the Whole Person approach I developed during my time teaching yoga and facilitating courses at Penny Brohn Cancer Care UK. The whole-person approach considers the impact of cancer on body, mind, spirit and relationships and is based on the five koshas model of personhood from the yoga subtle anatomy teachings.

My approach integrates advanced training in Mindfulness for Health (Breathworks Foundation) with decades of practical experience in yoga teaching and group facilitation, offering you a holistic framework to help your students live well despite the challenges of cancer.

Since I created this course in 2016, I have delivered it to hundreds of people around the UK and in Spain.
