Sort Out Your Back Online
Holistic, sustainable back care
Service Description
A 6-Week Yoga for Spinal Health Course 12th March - 23rd April (no class on 9th April) Sort Out Your Back takes a broad, compassionate and science-informed approach to back care. Pain is influenced not only by muscles and joints, but also by the nervous system, stress levels, movement habits, and how safe the body feels to move. Over six weeks, we work gently and progressively to restore trust in movement, release unnecessary tension, and build the kind of strength that genuinely supports spinal health. This course combines therapeutic yoga, somatic movement, mindfulness and modern pain science to support lasting change. Together we explore: Body awareness Understanding how you move and where you hold tension often creates the biggest shifts in comfort and ease. Nervous system reset Persistent pain can keep the body in a protective, guarded state. Through breathwork, rest and slow mindful movement, the body learns it is safe to soften and move again. Unwinding somatic movement Gentle, exploratory movements help release deeply held muscular tension and restore natural spinal mobility without strain. Understanding pain You’ll learn accessible, science-backed insights into how pain works, helping reduce fear and rebuild confidence in your body. Mindfulness practices are woven throughout, supporting relaxation, emotional regulation and a calmer relationship with movement. During the course you will: Release tension patterns that contribute to back discomfort Improve mobility and ease of movement Gradually strengthen muscles that support the spine Build hip and core stability that reduces strain on the back Learn how breath influences pain and muscular holding Gain a clearer understanding of pain and recovery Develop practical tools to manage flare-ups calmly and confidently Sessions are slow-paced, supportive and suitable for beginners. No previous yoga experience is needed. This course may suit you if you: Live with ongoing or recurring back pain Feel stiff, tense or cautious about movement Spend long periods sitting or feel posturally fatigued Want a gentle, evidence-informed approach rather than an intense exercise class Would like to understand your back as well as support it physically If you are experiencing acute or newly diagnosed pain, please seek guidance from a healthcare professional before joining.
