An overview of the workshop
The three main bandhas are energy seals in the body which we can invoke as a way of giving ourselves inner suspension on a physical level, and on a more subtle level we can enhance the pranic flow through the body. Mudras are positions with hands and body which can redirect the flow of energy in the body and create a certain tone to your presence.
We will look at Mulha bandha (root), Uddiyana bandha (abdomen) and Jalandhara bandha (throat) and how to gently and intelligently activate these powerful energetic points with an awareness of how they interrelate.
You may have been told in a class ot "squeeze your pee muscles" or "lift your pelvic floor" to engage the root bandha. While these cues willl give you a good neuromuscular connection to the area of the bandha, more subtle work will help you discover the powerful internal connections we can make.
We will also look at some of the commonly practiced yoga mudras and experience their effects in yoga practice.
The workshop will include mindful exercises and postures, breath work, meditation and helpful visual resources.
