An overview of the workshop

The Spring equinox is traditionally a time to bring about balance. While day and night are in perfect harmony at the Earth's quarter turn, we stand on the cusp of Spring. It's a time to look towards all the life and colour about to burst out of the Earth and to reflect on what we need to do to move on. 

Do you have stagnant emotions that need to be shifted? unhelpful patterns that got you through Winter but will only hold you back if you take them into the warmer months?

This restorative afternoon will be a unique blend of yoga and hypnotherapy. We will bring about homeostasis through relaxing, long-held postures (asana), breath work (pranayama), meditation (dhyana) and relaxation (zzzz). When you are thoroughly relaxed, Erica will take over to guide you through a hypnosis to clear unwanted baggage and  shift stagnant emotions. 

We will start off with some slow flow to release excess nervous tension and prepare the body for total relaxation. Then move into 90 minutes of restorative yoga and breath work. 

Restorative yoga is a relaxing style of yoga which uses props to bring about ease and lead you towards a restful state. The postures are held for longer periods than in a mainstream class - up to about 10 minutes to give you time to completely let go. 

During the final hour of the workshop, Erica Tijssen will guide us through hypnosis for clearing - clearing out old thought patterns, unhelpful perspectives and habits that do not serve us.


Meet Erica, local hypnotherapist and coach. Erica is a practised yogini and has been blending yoga and hypnotherapy together successfully in the Netherlands, before moving to England last year. 

I am very excited to be welcoming her to one of our cosy restorative afternoons to guide us in a one-hour hypnosis to clear unwanted baggage and move on with our lives. 

Here are some words from Erica: 

"First, I will tell you a bit about Hypnotherapy, what it is and what it is not. In Hypnosis, the body and mind assumes “a state of sleep”. Importantly though, you don’t actually sleep, like you do in bed. It is more like a combination of relaxation and focus. Your body goes into deep rest, whilst your brain actually becomes very alert. We all experience this natural state on a daily basis, for example just before we fall asleep, or getting absorbed in a film.

I will, then, take you into a wonderful, relaxing hypnotic trance. During the session I will guide you with my words. You will hear everything I say and you will experience everything and you will remember everything.

Together we are going to positively “re-program” the unconscious part to improve and balance your daily energy levels you are currently experiencing, so that you get the desired result.

Remember, you are in charge of this! You will leave energised, balanced, fully awake and in completely in tune with your own energy level. Not just on the day itself, but the result will be long lasting.
