An overview of the workshop
Prana is vital energy, and pranayama is at the heart of yoga practice. It is said that when we harness the breath, we harness the mind.
Pranayama can be a wonderful way to prepare for your meditation practice by becoming still and focused, it is also a bridge to fully inhabiting the body, especially the energy body or "pranamaya kosha". When you can tune into your pranic field, you become fully "online" with a heightened and integrated awareness.
You will learn the main yoga pranayamas and improve your awareness and understanding of your breath. Morven's approach is creative and non-dogmatic. We will not be working with rigid ratios or trying to control the breath, this practice is about discovering the power of the breath and fine tuning your awareness through gently guiding your breath and your awareness.
There will be a blend of movement and stillness, ending in deep stillness. We will close with guided meditation.
