Service Description
Practising inversions does not mean doing scary, difficult poses! Inversions give us a unique opportunity to elongate the spine, assist the flow of vital fluids within the body and change our perspective on the world. In this workshop, we will be developing skills in finding and maintaining space throughout the vertical axis of the spine. Inversions can also help to relieve shoulder tension and neck ache, and they are a natural trigger for the body's relaxation response. The skills you will learn in this workshop can be translated into moving well when walking, bending, twisting or doing complex asana. We will break down the poses downward facing dog and the standing wide legged forward bend in order to train the muscle memory, we'll also be looking at variations of shoulder stand, plough and those who would like to learn or improve their headstand or other inversions will have an opportunity to do that. We'll begin with a complete Hatha yoga practice to warm up, then take a short break before doing some inquiry where you will have the opportunity to tweak your own alignment and develop specific physical skills. We'll close with a guided savasana and meditation. Inversions can help you to feel refreshed, detoxified and physically empowered. You are welcome to come and play! It is recommended that you have at least 6 months of yoga practice.
