About the course
If you have been practising Yoga for a while now and feel it's time to go deeper, this four-week course will help you to develop your skills and your knowledge in asana, pranayama and meditation. We will explore the deeper meaning of Yoga and how to live the yogic life.
We will explore some of the more complex poses and how to refine your alignment in order to achieve them. There is no expectation to achieve the full pose - we will work up to the pose with a sequence designed to open and activate the key areas instrumental in creating the pose. Rather than being achievement orientated, it's an opportunity for you to progress, expand your boundaries and learn more about how you move.
The key poses we will explore will include:
Vashistasana (side plank)
Urdvha dhanurasana (full wheel pose - back bend)
Pranayama is the practice of organising energy (or prana) within the body. You will learn the basic Yoga pranayamas and how to tune into the currents of the breath and of your own energy flow.
There will be meditation included in each session. Hatha Yoga is the practice of preparing the body for meditation. When the body is ready and the breath has been prepared, then the meditative state comes more easily. You will learn how to meditate and have guidance in how to recognise and navigate different aspects of consciousness.
The Meaning of Yoga
We will take a theme every week from yoga philosophy, weaving it into the practice so that you can learn about the broader context of Yoga and what it means as a life path.

All equipment will be provided. Just come along in comfortable clothing and bring an extra layer for the relaxation.

Free attendance to two drop-in classes for the duration of the course
6 x 90 minute small group yoga sessions
Following the course, those who are new to Yoga by Nature will be able to take advantage of the offer of £15 for unlimited drop-in classes for one month, reduced from £30.
Priority will be given to those booking onto the entire course.
